Why there is no banner

A consent banner is required when a site installs tools that recognise you over time or across sites. This site installs none, so no banner is needed. The notice is still required, and this page is it.

What gets stored in your browser

• One technical session cookie, and only if you sign in to the course notes area. It keeps you logged in. It expires when you sign out, or after seven days.
• Nothing else.

What about the statistics?

I count visits, without knowing who you are. The code that distinguishes you from other visitors is computed using a secret that changes every night: the next day you are a new person, and there is no way to reconstruct the link. This is deliberate: it tells me whether the site works without telling me anything about you.
